what are the chances?

Well. Early Monday morning is not my favorite. Rushing to get ready, rushing to get to the train, fighting with the crazies…(see posts on Metra)…anyway, let us not forget on top of all of this, I have the luck of Larry David. So I make it to the train, but no seat, so I sat on the bottom steps going up to the upperdeck on the first car. We get past Clyborn (last stop before the Chicago train station) and at there is a woman’s knee in my back, apparently she wanted to get really close to me, so close… Read More »

metra riders: single seats are upstairs.

Posted by: Jennifer Zelazny | 0 Comments

I have been riding the Metra for over five years now, and not once have I ever put my bag next to me on a busy train to try and deter other people from sitting next to me. I have also never asked someone to move their bag until this morning. My morning express is like most other express trains, jammed. There is always that one jack ass that decides he is too good to have someone else share the two person seat and usually I will go out of my way to not strike up any conflict. I have… Read More »

six flags, take two.

Posted by: Jennifer Zelazny | 0 Comments

Having a Six Flags’ season pass is great. We can make a last minute decision to go to Six Flags in the afternoon or after dinner, and that is what we did on Saturday. Figuring the park would start to slowly empty at 5pm, well we were mistaken, but perhaps it was because we just happened to choose the dayof Gospel Fest. Yeah, just our luck. Church busses, vans everywhere. Ok, I can deal with that, but the lines were crazy. And I am guessing “Thou shall not jump lines” was not in the Ten Commandments, because there would have… Read More »

It is that time where I am customizing the look and feel of this web site so stay tuned for some future enhancement and changes. Eventually I will fully customize the template that I am currently using, but small steps first. I still need to adjust the right side of the page, but it is getting closer. Fun with CSS layout!

on the gay marriage amendment.

Posted by: Jennifer Zelazny | 2 Comments

I have had enough. The jokes, the comments, the bashing, and now the proposed marriage amendment? I do not understand the big deal…and I am tired of the christian right constantly trying to tell me how to live. Bush wants to “preserve marriage”, but he and his christian right friends do not get it…so let me put it in terms they might all understand: we want the right to divorce. Does that help W? Do you now understand? All the straight people have the opportunity to marry, screw up their marriage, screw up their kids, and then divorce. How is… Read More »

operation: republican in office

Posted by: Jennifer Zelazny | 0 Comments

I bet all Americans (well all Americans that do not want to see the same fiasco as “Operation Brother Jeb: 2000”) feel relieved to hear we now have a plan to hold elections, even if under attack, during the upcoming November election. Perhaps we were fooled by Operation Brother Jeb: 2000 in the 2000 election, but I bet you Bush and friends would love to get in office again with another shenanigan like “Operation No One Changes Presidents During War Times, So Bring it on Right Before the Elections.” A “conflict” or an “attack” right before the elections would likely… Read More »

Sometimes I cannot work until I am happy with my desktop picture and my icons. I am very picky with my desktops because they often serve as inspirations for new web designs (colors, contrasts, etc) In fact, when I present my web designs at big meetings, I take special care to choose a desktop that will make my design stand out against the background. Crazy? Maybe, but here is where I go to get the goods:Icons… xicons icons Iconfactory icons ResExcellence icons Desktop pictures… MacDesktops’ desktop pictures ResExcellence desktop pictures The Apple Collection desktop picures Spymac desktop picures Enjoy.
