I was nervous as I think once we get into the double digits the running gets real. The “I think I can do this” for the nine miles last week turns into “I hope I can do this” when running 11. I could not quite relax during the whole run and doubted myself the entire time. I had a sip of Gatorade at mile 6.2 and that was it which I believe ultimately was my downfall. By mile 8 – I was really tired and even with my maple syrup fuel – I did not have anything in the tank. It was a slow walk/jog for the last 3 miles just to get it down. I have some serious work to so over the next few days before I go to 12 miles next Saturday.
