There are few movies that get me more pumped than the James Bond movies. This upcoming movie looks like it will be great as well – especially with the sweet Land Rover Defender in there. I am excited to see it in the theaters!
If you have a laptop or computer near your TV, hate paying for cable, and have a way to hook up your computer to the TV – it is time you check out Hulu Desktop. I downloaded Hulu Desktop, hooked up my MacBook Pro to my TV (DVI to HDMI), and within a few minutes was watching episode 2 of 24 – and was able to use the remote that came with my computer to boot!
You can use Hulu Desktop to view TV shows, movies, trailers, etc and you can even use your Hulu account to queue up shows/movies so when you use Hulu Desktop – you do not need to search for something to watch. Simply login while you are using your computer, mark a show/movie as something you want to add to your queue and you are set.
I was a die hard Terminator fan back in the 1990s. My sister and I watched the first two movies quite a few times on VHS. I have every edition of T2 on DVD and when I went to Penn State back in 1995 – I had already hung up 3 T2 posters in my dorm room before my roommate showed up. Let’s just say I am a hardcore fan.
When my sister and I heard T3 was coming out – I made arrangements to fly to her house so we could see it in the theatre opening night. We walked out extremely displeased and neither one of us has watched it since.
I kept going back and forth about the latest Terminator movie – but finally decided to see it when my friend Doug asked me to go. We saw the movie yesterday and to my surprise – I actually thought it was good. The film definitely tried to get back to it’s roots. There was a ton of Terminator and Terminator 2 references (almost over the top) and the story was pretty solid as well. The one thing that I did notice that lacked – was the soundtrack. The soundtrack to T2 added to the intensity and overall film in both of the first films.
Overall – if you enjoyed the series until now – it is definitely worth it to see it in the theatre.
My son is a super fan of the movie Wall-E and when I tried to rip it for my iPhone and his iTeddy – using Handbrake the entire movie was out of sequence which even though did not seem to phase E, it bothered me to no end that my son was watching a completely scrambled movie. I did some research and found that other people had this same issue with Disney movies in particular and by using a little app called RipIt – the movie would be available in the correct order. As advertised, the application is really simple and it worked great. This is now my tool of choice for ripping DVDs. If you have any issues with out of order movies (especially Disney) – look no further.
This weekend I saw Michael Moore’s latest film Fahrenheit 9/11. I cannot remember a movie that struck so many emotions in a long time. The first few scenes caused tears to run down my face, later I was so frustrated I felt like I had a responsibility to my country to stand up and fight…to get our country “back”. I then cried some more, and then felt hopeful when the audience clapped and cheered as the credits appeared on the screen. I would recommend every person who is of voting age to see this film. At the very least you will walk out wanting to research some of the content that was presented. At most, you will take a stand and actually work for change. I know Michael Moore is not everyone’s favorite guy (Ken), but I have found that his movies really make you think, and question society which is always needed to insure a bright future for our next generation. Enlighten yourself. Take a chance. Take a stand. Be open to change.
